Choosing the wrong push cable leads directly to kinked lines, stuck camera heads, and wasted labor hours on the job site. Selecting the ideal RIDGID SeeSnake reel requires matching cable stiffness, length, and diameter directly to the geometry of your target pipe.
| Reel Model | Line Capacity | Cable Length | Cable Stiffness | Primary Application |
| Standard | 2" – 12" (50–300 mm) | 200' / 325' | Maximum | Long main sewer laterals & large pipes |
| Mini | 1.5" – 8" (38–203 mm) | 200' | Moderate-High | All-around residential & commercial mains |
| Compact M40 | 1.5" – 8" (38–203 mm) | 131' | Moderate | Portable main lateral & branch line inspection |
| NanoReel | 3/4" – 2" (20–50 mm) | 85' | Ultra-Flexible | Small-diameter lines, boiler tubes & tight turns |
Stiffness vs. Pushability: The Physics in the Pipe
Pushability is a constant balance between column strength and bend radius. When pushing into larger pipes (4" to 12"), a soft cable lacks column strength; it will buckle, coil, and bind against the pipe walls—a failure known as "snake-skinning." A thick, rigid push cable prevents this, transferring manual force directly to the camera head over long runs.
In micro-diameter lines (3/4" to 2") filled with tight 90° elbows or P-traps, high column strength becomes a liability. Rigid cables wedge against pipe walls, halting forward progress. Ultra-flexible cables yield column strength to navigate tight angles, P-traps, and specialty branch lines that conventional inspection systems cannot enter.

Selecting the Right Reel for Your Job Site
- RIDGID SeeSnake Standard: Built for heavy-duty infrastructure work. Its thick 0.44" fiberglass-reinforced cable delivers maximum rigidity to push up to 325 ft through wide-diameter mains without binding.

- RIDGID SeeSnake Mini: The multi-purpose industry benchmark. Provides 200 ft of push cable stiff enough for main laterals yet flexible enough to clear standard 90° bends in 1.5" to 8" lines.

- RIDGID SeeSnake Compact M40: A portable hybrid system. Combines the line capacity of the Mini with a compact frame and TruSense technology, making it ideal for rooftop vents and tight workspaces.

-
- RIDGID SeeSnake NanoReel: The micro-pipe specialist. Its ultra-flexible push cable and compact 15.5 mm camera head easily navigate sharp 90° turns, sprinkler lines, supply pipes, and boiler tubes down to 3/4".
